Charging Time Formulas
AC Wall Outlet:
Time = Battery Capacity ÷ (AC Input Wattage × 0.9)
The 0.9 accounts for 10% charging inefficiency
Solar Panel:
Time = Battery Capacity ÷ (Solar Wattage × 0.8 × Sun Hours)
The 0.8 accounts for 20% loss from angle, clouds, heat
12V Car Port:
Time = Battery Capacity ÷ (120W × 0.85)
Typical car charging is limited to 120W with 15% inefficiency
Tips for Faster Charging
- AC charging: Fastest method - most power stations charge 0-80% in 1-2 hours with fast charging
- Solar charging: Position panels perpendicular to sun, clean regularly, avoid shade
- Combine methods: Some power stations allow dual charging (AC + solar simultaneously)
- Temperature: Charge in moderate temps (50-85°F) - extreme heat or cold slows charging
- Battery level: Charging slows down significantly above 80% (trickle charging to protect battery)
